Between wears, linen can benefit from being aired out to maintain its crispness. Lay your garment flat on a bed or towel and allow it to breathe for a few hours to release any odors or moisture. This simple step helps preserve its natural texture and keeps it looking fresh. Use a lint roller to gently remove any lint or dust that may have settled on the fabric.

As cashmere is a natural fibre, it can be susceptable to 'pilling'. This is natural and is, unfortunately, an inevitable consequence of cashmere. To remove pilling on your pieces, gently use a cashmere comb or electric de-bobbler.

Spot Cleaning

For small stains or marks, always treat linen with care. Use lukewarm water and a mild detergent, gently dabbing the affected area to lift the stain without scrubbing. Avoid aggressive rubbing, which can weaken the fibers or cause pilling. Address stains as quickly as possible to prevent them from setting in, and ensure the fabric is fully air dried before storing.

Washing

Since linen should not be washed at home, drying after cleaning isn’t typically needed. However, if you’ve spot cleaned your linen, lay the garment flat to air dry in a well-ventilated space, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. This ensures the fabric maintains its natural texture and prevents any warping or shrinking.

Storing

Proper storage is crucial for keeping your linen garments in pristine condition. Always store them flat, as hanging may cause stretching or wrinkling. If you’re storing linen for an extended period, use breathable garment bags or wrap the items in tissue paper to protect them from dust and moths. Avoid placing heavy objects on top of linen garments to prevent creases and damage to the fabric.
